ORIGINAL: Will Mother Nature allow NASCAR Cup Series drivers to complete Saturday’s race at Martinsville Speedway?

The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500, the first night race of the 2021 Cup Series season, could be delayed or postponed with possible rain and thunderstorms in the forecast. Weather has already impacted the weekend schedule, as NASCAR suspended Friday night’s Xfinity Series race and announced it would be completed Sunday.

10:20 p.m. — Sorry, NASCAR fans. The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 has been postponed and will resume Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

10:10 p.m. — Track-drying efforts continue, but there could be more showers on the way.

9:45 p.m. — Well, that didn’t last long. NASCAR is bringing the drivers back to pit road after just 42 laps.

9:25 p.m. — And there’s the green flag. Keep those fingers crossed for no more rain.
